4-24-06  Lites Chassis arrives at Pabst Racing.

Today the new Elan DP02 IMSA Lites chassis arrived at the Pabst Racing workshop.  Here is a photo before rolling into the shop for pre-season preparations.  The first impression of the car is fantastic.  Elan used high quality plumbing hoses, which

is very uncommon to be included from a factory.  The suspension and body panels appeared fully assembled with beautiful little Dynamic three-way adjustable dampers.  The car will be gone over with a fine tooth comb in preparation for some testing and the upcoming IMSA Lites Series and selected SCCA CSR events.  In addition to the mechanical and paint preparations, driver Jim Ferro will be fitted with a custom epoxy/beaded seat for superior comfort and safety.

As the racing season winds down, Pabst Racing is just spooling up for winter projects. " We have a long worklist to complete this winter" said Augie Pabst III, owner of Pabst Racing Services. " There is the 2004 Porsche GT3 Cup, a 2001 Van Diemen F2000, a Swift .008 Toyota Atlantic, a FSCCA, and now a 2000 Marcos Mantis from the 2000 Daytona 24 Hour Grand Am GT class".

All of these cars will be torn down and rebuilt for their owners in preparation for the 2005 racing season.  Pabst is looking forward to the challenge ahead. " We will need to have some of these cars ready by early 2005 as a few of them will be starting 2005 at the Florida winter nationals".

On the pro racing side, Pabst is optimistic for 2005.
" We have a lot of irons in the fire right now, and we're just not yet sure where we will end up". Pabst said the team could end up in one of three series for 2005 and hopes to have that answer within a few weeks.  Keep checking the Pabstracing.com site for updates on the 2005 racing program.
